Associate Professor Wang Da, Ph.D. in Engineering
Born in August 1988, Changchun, Jilin Province.

His primary research interests include vehicle dynamics theory for racing cars and development technologies for key assemblies, as well as automotive chassis electronic control technologies. He has long been dedicated to undergraduate teaching. Since joining the faculty in 2016, he has served as the Chief Instructor of the Jilin University Student Racing Team. Under his guidance, the team—which had previously achieved a best national ranking of sixth and involved fewer than 100 students annually—has grown into a top‑tier student innovation and practical teaching group, winning the national championship 16 times and ranking among the most influential teams nationwide. Over years of teaching practice, he has used motorsports as an entry point, high‑level disciplinary competitions as drivers, and the goal of fostering "autonomous and lifelong learning" to "move" classrooms into workshops and laboratories onto racetracks, achieving comprehensive integration of theoretical instruction and engineering practice. He has established a new "immersive" paradigm for engineering practical teaching, guided by high‑level academic competitions and permeated by project‑based learning throughout the entire process. The related outcomes have been reported over 100 times by mainstream media outlets including China Central Television, People's Daily, and Xinhua News Agency. The team has been repeatedly invited to major events such as the Beijing International Auto Show, Shanghai International Auto Show, China Auto Modification Technology Exhibition, and Jilin Province Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievement Exhibition. These efforts have produced exemplary results in practical teaching and all‑round education, significantly enhancing the university's talent cultivation, discipline development, teaching reform, undergraduate research training, international exchange, and enrollment promotion. The "JLU Automotive Model" has gradually become a representative talent cultivation paradigm in China, offering replicable and scalable solutions for related emerging engineering disciplines.
