Research Interests:
His primary research directions are design and dynamics control of new-configuration chassis systems for electric vehicles, configuration design of automatic wheel modules, and torque vectoring control technology.
Research Profile:
Professor Jin has long been engaged in teaching and research in the fields of innovative vehicle chassis configurations and dynamics control. He has conducted fundamental and pioneering work on dynamics issues of intelligent vehicles, super-stability control technology, and innovative configurations of in-wheel-motor-driven vehicles, achieving multiple important engineering application outcomes.
He has made breakthroughs in bottleneck technologies such as the industrialization of vehicle electronic stability control (ESC) systems and all-wheel-drive control systems. The domestically developed ESC system and indirect tire pressure monitoring technology have been mass‑applied in over 20 vehicle models, while mechanical and electric all‑wheel‑drive control technologies have been promoted and adopted by multiple OEMs. The key technologies of the developed integrated in‑wheel motor drive module have also entered the industrial application stage.
He has been granted over 50 invention patents and has published more than 30 SCI‑indexed papers. Over the past decade, as the principal investigator, he has undertaken 13 key research projects (each with funding exceeding RMB 1 million), including national, provincial, and ministerial‑level projects, with total funding exceeding RMB 50 million. In 2021, he was awarded a National Key R&D Program project (RMB 14 million).
He currently leads the Automatic Wheel Module and Innovative Chassis Configuration and Control Team at Jilin University, which consists of 3 professors/doctoral supervisors, 4 associate professors, and over 10 doctoral students. The team focuses on the R&D of automatic wheel modules and vehicle torque‑vectoring distribution technology, conducting collaborative research in electric vehicle overall configuration innovation, structural design and lightweighting, advanced testing technology platform construction, vehicle domain control, steer‑by‑wire/suspension, and vehicle configuration innovation. The team maintains strong cooperative relationships with most domestic OEMs and leading parts suppliers.
