Internal Combustion Engine Design
Internal Combustion Engine Design, one of the main courses for undergraduates in major of Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, is a required major course in teaching program.
The aim of the course is to learn basic theory and design philosophy of internal combustion engine design, master structure and calculation method of main parts and components, coordinate and select the accessory system in Internal Combustion Engine Dynamics, learn application of modern design methods, such as optimization design, reliability design, CAD in internal combustion engine design. The students will gain the ability to process technical work in internal combustion engine design.
Engineering Thermodynamics refers to the subject that studies the inter-conversion rules among thermal energy and energies in other forms, especially for the mechanical energy. The majority of technical issues came across in modern production fields, and numerous natural phenomena are related with transfer and conversion of thermal heat. Therefore, Engineering Thermodynamics is the basic course for most majors of engineering courses.
In Jilin University, Engineering Thermodynamics is a required basic course, a total of 54 classes, open for undergraduates in majors of Energy and Power Engineering. Fundamental Thermodynamics, 34 classes, is a required basic course for Mechanical Design Manufacture and Automation, Vehicle Engineering. In the course, the students will scientifically recognize the objective laws of energy analysis and conversion, master methods and means to analyze issues in Engineering Thermodynamics, analyze and calculate thermal phenomenon issues correctly in engineering project, and set up a concept of energy saving and rational use of the energy.
